Adopt a Puzzle Piece

Jarred and I cannot begin to describe how humbling it is to start fundraising for our adoption. However, through the prayer and confirmation leading us to the decision to begin our adoption journey, we have realized that we simply cannot do this without the help of our families, church, and friends. Until we started this process, I had no idea how overwhelming the costs associated with adoption could be. An estimate for our situation is around $40,000 plus $5,000 for consulting and home study fees, totaling $45,000. Here is a breakdown of average costs for a domestic infant adoption (these are estimates, not exact):

• Adoption Consultants/Referral Firm - $3,500
• Home Study - $1,500
• Agency Fees - $15,000
• Court/Legal Fees - $2,000 - $4,000
• Documentation - $500
• Birth mother expenses - $5,000
• Hospital/Health expenses - $10,000 - $15,000
• Travel/Hotel expenses - $3,000 - $5,000
• Post Placement fees - $500
• Miscellaneous - $500 - $5,000

How can you get involved in our adoption journey?
ADOPT A PUZZLE PIECE!
1. Choose a Puzzle Piece
We've had one of our adoption photos made into a 300 piece puzzle, and numbered the pieces 1-300.
Each number represents a corresponding dollar amount (ex: #1 is $1, #157 is $157, etc.).
Just choose the number you would like, and donate that amount.
We will keep this site updated on the available numbers as we go.
 
2. Donate that amount
Our preferred method for donating is via mail. The reason for this is because when you donate via mail, 100% of your donation will be able to go towards the adoption costs - online donation sites charge service fees. Email us at: forthischildiprayed2016@gmail.com if your need our mailing address. That being said, we truly appreciate any donation - regardless of how it is made.

**Please be aware that we chose YouCaring.com for our donation site because their fees were lower than competitors; however, they AUTOMATICALLY charge an OPTIONAL 6% fee when making a donation. This fee can be removed by clicking on the link next to the total before confirming your donation.
3. Pray
When you donate, you will receive your puzzle piece(s) as a reminder to pray for us during our adoption journey.

The Big Picture
- We will also keep a matching puzzle piece that will have your name on it. When complete, the puzzle will be hung in a double-sided frame with the picture on one side and the names of all those who have given sacrificially and prayerfully for this child to be in our arms on the other side.

- The amount of money needed for this adoption seems so big, but we keep reminding ourselves that our God is bigger!

- $45,000 seems crazy, but 300 people seems so much more do-able.

- If all 300 pieces are adopted, we'll have raised the amount of money we need to be able to grow our family!!!
